Fond du Lac County Fair Encourages Recycling

We Recycle
When you head off to the fair July 20-25 to enjoy a cool beverage, whether it is served in a glass or plastic bottle, you’ll be contributing to a greener Fond du Lac when you recycle the bottle. To help fairgoers make it easy to recycle and to keep the fairgrounds clean, the Fair Board has acquired ten new recycling bins. They will be placed throughout the grounds. These bins are in addition to the 4 bins that were used on a trial basis last year. Fond du Lac County 4-H Junior Leaders encouraged 4-H members to improve the environment. Campbellsport 4-H accepted the challenge and approached the Fair Board last year to encourage them to start the recycling effort. To keep the momentum going the Junior Leaders presented a check to the fair board to cover the cost of one-half of the new bins for this year’s fair. George Stanchfield, Fair Board President looks on as, Angie Kochan and Jake Bertram, Fond du Lac county 4-H Jr. Leader members present a check to Matt Immel, Fair Board Manager/Treasurer to partially sponsor the purchase of the recycling bins. This sponsorship is part of the annual plan of the Jr. Leaders with a focus this year of Breaking Barriers to Better Our Community. Fairgoers can support the effort by recycling at this year’s fair.
