Popular petting zoo to return to Fond du Lac County Fair
Animal Specialties Petting Zoo is back by popular demand to the 2008 Fond du Lac County Fair, July 16-20. Sponsored by Pick N Save of Fond du Lac, the petting zoo will return for its third year and has proven to be a popular fair attraction.
Animal Specialties offers educational hands-on activities for every member of the family including; hands-on milking demonstrations, chicken hatching, egg-producing hens, farmyard geese and ducks, calves, petting farm animals, pony rides, sow and piglet display, sheep and lamb display, and beef display (featuring beef cattle of several different breeds). The kids can have their photo taken with the animals as well as feed the goats or brush the cows.
Animal Specialties, which is owned by Bunky and Connie Boger of Arkansas, "bring the farm to the fair" allowing families to experience all aspects of agriculture with hands-on experiences that create lifelong memories. "This is an opportunity to educate the public about the importance of agriculture in our community while enjoying a fun-filled day at the fair," said Fond du Lac Fair Sponsorship Coordinator, Katie Grinstead. "Without the support of our local businesses, such as Pick N Save, we wouldn't be able to bring these great educational venues to the fair."
