Fair to host 4rd Annual Fair Idol Competition

The 156 th Fond du Lac County Fair will host the 4th Annual Fondy's Fair Idol Competition.  The event includes a Junior and Senior Division. All levels of competition will take place Saturday and Sunday of the Fair in the Sound Stage Tent.  This year's Fair will be held July 18-22 at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.

The Junior Division of Fondy's Fair Idol Competition is limited to individuals 12 to 17 years of age as of July 21, 2007.  The Senior Division of the Competition is limited to individuals 18 years and older as of July 21, 2007. 

Junior Division competition will take place on Sunday, July 22 in the Sound Stage Tent.  Registration will take place at noon, with performances beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Senior Division competition will take place on Saturday, July 21 in the Sound Stage Tent.  Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., with performances beginning at 11:30 p.m.

Application forms are available at the Fair Office, 17th Street and Martin Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI.  It is also available by emailing fair-office@dotnet.com.

The 2007 Junior Division Fondy's Fair Idol winner will receive $500 savings bond.  Second place winner will receive a $250 savings bond; and third place winner will receive a $100 savings bond.

The 2007 Senior Division Fondy's Fair Idol winner will receive $500 cash. Second place winner will receive $250 cash; and third place winner will receive $100 cash.

Each person performing in the preliminary contests will receive two day passes to the 2007 Fond du Lac County Fair.

Entries are due at the Fair Office by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2007.  No late entries will be accepted.  If you are emailing or faxing your entry, please call the fair office to verify it was received.

Event Sponsors of the Fondy's Fair Idol Competition include Camp Winnegator, Record Entertainment, Sunny 97.7, Wal-Mart and Fond du Lac County Agricultural Society.

The public is encouraged to attend the Competition.  The winners of the event will be based on the judges and audience participation.
