2008 Fond du Lac County Fair

Fair To Host 2007 Fairest of the Fair Competition. 

The 2007 Fairest of the Fair will be crowned by 2006 Fairest Courtney Pufall following the final competition judging on Wednesday, July 18.  Final judging will start at 6:30 pm on the Miller Lite Grandstand.  Preliminary judging of the participants will take place prior to the Fair.

The winner of the Fairest of the Fair will serve as the ambassador for the 2007 Fond du Lac County Fair.  The Fair runs from Wednesday, July 18 through Sunday, July 22. 

The Fairest of the Fair represents the Fair at various media and promotional events throughout the year.  The Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair will compete for the Wisconsin Association of Fairs Fairest of the Fair title in January of 2008.  The winner will also be asked to participate in local community activities where she will be the official representative and voice for the Fond du Lac County Fair.

Seven young women are seeking the Fairest title. Fairest of the Fair participants must be 18 years and older as of July 18, 2007.  The following young women competing include:

Ashley Marie Franke Ashley Marie Franke:  Ashley is the daughter of Kris Kraft and Scott and Laura Franke of Fond du Lac.  A 2005 graduate of Oakfield High School, Ashley is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business with an emphasis in Accounting and Dairy Science.  This past year, she was involved with the college's Dairy Club and Agricultural Business and Marketing Society.  Some of her hobbies include horses and cattle.  In the past Ashley has shown cattle and horses at the Fond du Lac County Fair, Wisconsin State Fair, World Dairy Expo, and the Southwest Livestock Show held in Louisville, Kentucky.  She is employed at C & M Dairy and Oakfield Elevator.

 

 

Stephanie Loehr Stephanie Loehr:  Stephanie is the daughter of Peter and Connie Loehr of Mount Calvary.  Stephanie graduated from Campbellsport High School in 2005 and is attending the University of Findlay where she is pursuing degrees related to Business and Equine Science.  Stephanie is currently employed by Jomanny Industries of Fond du Lac, where she works as an independent Kirby dealer, setting appointments for demonstrations in customer homes.  Stephanie attended the John Casablanca's School of Modeling and Acting.  She has been recognized with numerous 4-H awards.  She is involved with the FFA and 4-H alumni and as a Salvation Army volunteer.

 

 

 

Kristin Natzke Kristin Natzke:  Kristin is the daughter of Tim and Barb Natzke of Fond du Lac.  A 2006 Winnebago Lutheran Academy graduate, she is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a degree in Dairy Science and Life Science Communications (Agricultural Journalism).  After graduation she hopes to remain involved with the dairy industry by pursuing a public relations career.  Her accomplishments include being named 1 st place recipient of the 2007 Badger Dairy Club Scholarship.  She is employed at Great Northern Land and Cattle Company, Callahan's Bar and Grill, and Rural Insurance (Brian Greenman) as a personal secretary.  She has been active in 4-H, Junior Holsteins and FFA.

 

 

 

Kendra Ruplinger Kendra Marie Ruplinger:  Kendra is the daughter of Stan and Lisa Ruplinger of Oakfield.  An Oakfield High School graduate, she is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Her future goal is to be elected into public office.  She hopes to work in a senator's office after graduation and attend law school.  While at school in Madison Kendra works for the Senate Sergeant at Arms as a Page at the Capitol.  During the summer, she is employed at Quad Graphics, J LO'S Depot, and as an umpire for the Oakfield Recreation Association.  She was an active participant in the 4-H and FFA programs.

 

 

 

Diana SchuellerDiana Schueller:  Diana is the daughter of Niel and Janet Schueller of Fond du Lac.  A 2005 graduate of Fond du Lac High School, Diana is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. On the college level she is active in Dance Theatre, Horseman's Association, and IHSA, a competitive horse showing team. Diana's goal is to become a horse veterinarian and own a small ranch.  In high school Diana was a member of the National Honor Society and was part of the Who's Who among American High School Students .  She is currently employed at Free Spirit Riders and a Mukwanago horse breeding farm.  She is a part of Fond du Lac's Community Theatre program and volunteers at Free Spirit Riders.

 

 

 

Toni SteinmetzToni Steinmetz: Toni is the daughter of Anthony and Sue Steinmetz of Fond du Lac. A Fond du Lac High School graduate, Toni is currently majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish at Marian College of Fond du Lac. Her community service activities include being a big sister for the Big Brother/Big Sister organization, volunteering at the Humane Society and the Volunteer Center, and being involved with Relay for Life. Toni's hobbies include snowboarding, photography, music and writing poetry and short stories. She is employed as a disc jockey with Record Entertainment, and with Radio Plus Sports Inc. in the traffic and programming departments.

 

 

 

Melissa ZimdahlMelissa Morgan Zimdahl: Melissa is the daughter of Michael and Shelley Zimdahl of Campbellsport. A 2005 graduate of Campbellsport High School, Melissa is attending Marian College of Fond du Lac, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Economics and Finance. She has been recognized numerous honors, including the Marian Business Faculty and Staff Award and Distinguished Rath Scholar. She is currently employed at Silbernagel and Jasen Inc., of Kewaskum as a registered Client Coordinator Assistant. Melissa was a ten year member of the Campbellsport 4-H Club, and is currently a Clover Bud youth leader.

 

 

 

Rick and Pat Miller of Culver's of Fond du Lac will present the winner of the Fairest of the Fair with a $750 scholarship, with the first runner-up receiving a $250 scholarship. The second runner-up will receive a $100 scholarship from Oakfield Lions. Holiday Dodge is also a sponsor.
